TGOC16 – Day 3 – Glen Etive to Kings House

Despite my best intentions, it was 9am before I set off. It took me an hour to reach my planned camp for the previous night and I was pleased to find it was horrible!

I had a room booked for tonight and I wanted to take full advantage of it. At 3:24pm I was standing by the Scottish Rights of Way Society sign to Glencoe via Lairig Gortain and I calculated that it would be about 8pm before I arrived at the hotel if I went that way, so I followed the minor road along Glen Etive. The Lairig looked great, but after soup, chili and two pints of Real Ale I think I made the right decision.

Glad to see you have some decent weather. I didn’t make it to Scotland this May, I got waylaid in Lincoln and had to make do with a trip to Edale. Very pleased that SWFC overcame BAHA so now looking forward to Wembley.

I did Lairig Gartain a few years ago, it looked easy but it was tough going underfoot.
