I’m at Catterline after finishing my 9th TGO Challenge.
The last couple of days were good. There was a friendly crowd in Charr Bothy and I walked with them for most of yesterday until they turned South in the direction of Brownmuir and I went North Eastish looking for a stealthy pitch; which I found in a woodland between a road and a railway line.
Unfortunately the pub is not yet open. Terrible planning!

Thanks, John. It was a little chilly for a dip! The two hot days were right at the beginning.

It’s been cold even here in my house working at my desk so I’ve been thinking of you Challengers. I think if there’s one theme that runs through all the Challenges I did it was the cold. I was certainly never going to go in the north Sea!
Have a good evening.

Well done lass. How’s the feet? Hope you didn’t have to wait too long before BEER.

Ta, Phil. The feet have been fine, thanks. A bit achy on occasion but the crippling plantar fasciitis seems to be under control. No brufen at all this year. The pub opetned at noon which seemed a respectable time to drink beer!

Well done Judith, and good to see you at Montrose.
A Munro I see (you kept that quiet). Two next year?

Hi Martin. I had one on this year’s route…. but not the one I did! Two could be awfully ambitious. Well done on completing your own crossing, and thanks to Sue for the shortcake.

Congratulations on 9 crossings, Judith. You’ll find all sorts of people wanting to be your walking partner for next year (I know I did, when I had guaranteed acceptance for my 10th: but I told them all I wanted ten solo crossings, so nothing doing.)
Alas, having now got my ten, I go straight onto the standby list this time. Unless I can find a walking partner with guaranteed acceptance, that is …
